An excellent music book along the lines of "jazz fake books" that provide melody and chord changes for some of the more harmonically, melodically (and yes, obscure) creatively original tunes in all of jazz.

I'm a new adult piano player (1 yr), and this book is perfect for me.A wonderful collection of Medieval to Classical pieces that are not way over my head.And, it has more than enough for me to grow in to, (relative Beginner pieces to Intermediate/more technical pieces.
40+ composers represented including B, B, B, Chopin, Liszt, Schubert, and a few more that are perfect to help graduate your level of play.
Offers a brief history of the composer & history of the piece as it related to his life.
Editor Notations / Suggestions included, and are nice addition to grow in to (trills, why a slur was used / how to play).Suggestions are not obtrusive if you want to stay with the original music.Also includes suggested tempo range (BPM), fingering, and much more.
I learned more from this book in the past few weeks than I've learned from the dozens of books I've purchased so far.
84 selections.Spiral bound. Printing is a good size and is crisp (grayed notations are very legible).]
FYI for Newbies:I often go over to YouTube to see if there is a video on how the piece is played.This often helps me with my timing.

Joy Of Irish Ballads (Joy Books) [Paperback] Review

I am very pleased with this book. It includes a wonderful variety of good old fashioned Irish songs (such as "Irish Eyes are Smiling","The Irish Washerwoman", "Danny Boy", "The KerryDance" and "Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ral" just to mention a few)and are arranged with the beginner in mind. 37 songs are contained in this80 page book.
Any beginner interested in Irish music would appreciatethis book. Though, I am no critic, I would suggest this to all interested.
