On-Stage Stands KB8802R Rosewood Keyboard Bench Review

It's been a month and I don't find any issue with it. I am about 190 lbs heavy.

The only potential issue is some edge is sharp, not round so it might be an issue for a baby practicing stand ups, however i don't think this is a problem in normal situation.

The bench would have been perfect if it had a room to store stuff underneath - I couldn't tell this when reading the product description.

Neil Young: Greatest Hits (Piano/Vocal/Chords) [Paperback] Review

Some of the best Neil Young tunes here-in .....well-made with decent notation to fiddle around with my meager keyboard skills which equals hours of enjoyment.

While true Neil Young fans know his treasure-rich songwriting career encompasses many many fine tunes not in this collection, it's difficult to find much fault in these sixteen beauties. (I am lucky to have purchased both "On the Beach" and "Zuma" songbooks for piano/guitar when available in the 70's)

Greatist Hits starts with "Down by the River"; easy to hear the plaintive cry of lost love. But I also wonder if Neil's choices of chords/melody were a direct or otherwise influence when Pink Floyd's group effort "Breathe" came out a few years later? Inneresting, but as Neil says onstage, "It's all the same song!"

Well, if you like the music of Neil Young, buy this and mess around with the music (whether you can read notes on the music staff or not isn't critcal)to see which chords are played in first position, and which aren't. Listen carefully enough from the "way it sounds" vs.the recordings; then you can consider the songbook purchase a substitute for a few piano lessons and learn to pick out some great tunes.

Casio PX-100 Privia 88-Key Digital Piano Review

I am obsessed with this keyboard. Why? Because it's the first one that I've seen and played so far that has PERFECT weighting on the keys, beautiful sound, and a GREAT price. This keyboard has been on my wishlist for a while now, ever since I first saw it at Sam's. I just want to reiterate how well Casio has done with this keyboard - While there are a limited range of tones available on the PX-100, there are plenty of features for someone who is like me - If you want the feel of a real piano with the weight of an electronic keyboard, this is the keyboard you want to look at. I just couldn't help but fall in love with the keys on this baby, I've played on keyboards with weighted keys before, but this one just takes the cake - The keys are weighted propertly, they spring back like they should, and the weight is ranged just right - the lower keys are just the slightest bit heavier than the higher end. This thing is a DREAM to play! Featuring midi input/output ports, two headphone jacks, pedal port and everything I've talked about so far, this keyboard is definitely something to look at if you want the warmth and feel of a real piano at the price and portability of an electronic keyboard. I highly reccomend this keyboard!

Product Description:
The slim, lightweight, and overall compact nature of Casio's Privia PX-100 digital piano means you can pack it just about anywhere. When you're not tickling its full 88 keys, you can stash the polyphonic keyboard in a closet, under a bed, or in other compact locations where most digital pianos refuse to fit.
The scaled hammer-action keyboard offers touch sensitivity for beautiful piano tones and a feature called New Sound Source which is said to give the PX-100 sound quality to rival that of an actual grand piano. Auto-accompaniment provides exciting, dynamic, and realistic background arrangements for pop, jazz, rock, and a range of the other genres. The PX-100 can provide complete orchestral accompaniment on command, too.
Other primary tones (voices) include strings and pipe organ, with 10 total tones. A layer feature allows simultaneous sounding of 2 tones, while a split feature lets you split the keyboard between 2 different tones. Lesson assembles functions that enhance your practice sessions, which you can devote to right-hand part only, left-hand part only, or both hands--whatever requires the most practice. You can also record songs for playback at a later point (up to 5,200 notes).
An onboard metronome offers adjustable tempos and beats. Adding effects makes notes sound richer and deeper, and the PX-100 includes 8 effects: 4 reverbs and 4 choruses.
Use the built-in music library to learn songs and develop coordination. There are 30 preloaded tunes plus memory storage for 10 downloadable songs. The PX-100's 30 preloaded piece include Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu Op.66, Satie's Gymnopedies 1, Beethoven's "Fur Elise" and Sonata Op.27-2 "Moonlight" (first movement), as well as classic songs like "Over the Rainbow," "Someday My Prince Will Come," and "Let It Be."

88-Key Piano With Bench And Stand Review

The Yamaha Digital Piano is a smaller piano than the traditional spinet piano and is perfect to sit along a wall in your office or another room without taking up much room. The sound is beautiful and the key action has the feel of a regular piano. This same piano was featured at a local piano dealer of Yamaha pianos for $1850 in the Charlotte NC area and we were able to get the very same piano for slightly over $1000.It is wonderful for a piano student because the piano records and the student can play back their song and hear where any mistakes were made.I highly recommend this piano. We love it.

Perfect for beginning students and experienced players alike, the YDP-131 Digital Piano delivers authentic piano sound with exceptionally natural response. With 6 different instrument Voices that utilize the AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) stereo sampling tone generation, and featuring an expressive GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) keyboard, this instrument is a joy to play, practice and perform on. It also features 64-note polyphony, three foot pedals and a built in speaker system. Dual voice capability lets you play two different instrument sounds at the same time, while a 1-track song recorder allows you to capture your original musical ideas and performances.
Just like high-grade digital pianos, the YDP-131 uses Yamaha's renowned AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) tone generation technology and Stereo Sampling. When you play a key, what you hear is a "sample", or digital recording, of the same note on a high quality concert grand piano. Applying the know-how gleaned from over 100 years of crafting fine acoustic pianos, Yamaha created the highly acclaimed GH (Graded Hammer effect) keyboard. Unlike conventional digital piano keyboards that use springs or dampers to simulate piano feel, the GH keyboard uses weights and mechanical linkages to provide a new level of realism. You'll notice the difference it makes as soon as you start playing. Classically beautiful woodgrain body, with sliding key cover to protect the keyboard from dust, matches any decor perfectly. What's more, the YDP-131 is lightweight so it's easy to move.
