The Disney Theme Park Songbook: Remember the Magic (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Songbook) [Paperback] Review

Maybe this songbook will rejog those fond memories of Disney's Themeparks.I bought this primarily for Fantasmic (remember, this is piano music), and was impressed with the notation. These songs are intermediate in skill level, but you also get accurate and lively transcriptions as a trade off for difficulty.Though the songs were faithfully transcribed, the cheese factor is strong - limburger strong in some instances.By this I mean today's Disney is trying to tug on those heart strings with some cliche musical phrases and over-the-top lyrics. Here's a sample of the lyrics for "Just One Dream": "So many miracles are happening around us", "Like the Promise of the Sun we're born to shine", "We are the wings and we can fly into forever".OK you get my drift.

The Disney Collection (Easy Piano Series) [Paperback] Review

This music book contains 54 Disney songs arranged for piano, vocal, and guitar. The songs come from Disney movies, TV shows, and short cartoons from the beginning up to the present. Most of the favorites are here: SnowWhite and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Lady and theTramp, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins and the 101 Dalmatians, amongothers.Davy Crockett fans will be particularly pleased that 20 verses ofThe "Ballad of Davy Crockett" are included.
This collection isnot exhaustive. The book is not particularly pretty--there are no picturesaside from the cover. The music itself is not too easy or too hard--ifyou're looking for a musical challenge, you won't find it here--but ifyou're looking for music that will provide a variety of pleasant playingand listening for Disney music fans, you've found it.
