A DAY TO REMEMBER: Piano Music for your Wedding Day [Paperback] Review

This is a good resource for solo pianists who play a lot of weddings.I bought it after getting multiple requests for music "like the O'Neill Brothers."The problem is, half the songs that you will be asked for are in the 2nd volume, so you'll have to buy two books (this seems to be a way to get more money per song, rather than publishing them all in a single volume). That being said, a single wedding should cover the cost of the both books.A few of the songs* have an optional instrumental part to complete the arrangement.

A Day To Remember includes:
Falling in Love
Wachet Auf (Sleepers, Awake)
Air on the G String
Air (from _Water Music_)
Reminiscent Joy
Canon in D*
Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring*
The Wedding Song (There Is Love)
Ave Maria*
I Will Be Here
The Gift of Love*
Spring (from _The Four Seasons_)
Ode to Joy
From This Moment On
The Way You Look Tonight
Forever in Love

The arrangements are intermediate to advanced.Comparing the transcriptions with other Hal Leonard editions that I have, I find that the Airs are the same as in other HL books. The transcriptions of JesuJoy of Man's Desiring and Ave Maria are slightly arranged for the 2nd instrument, and Canon in D is heavily arranged.I have never seen a piano transcription of Spring before. It is the most difficult piece in the book, and the least pianistic, but it still makes for a great recessional with a little bit of practice and metronome work. For a piece that could be potentially difficult to reduce to piano, the transcription is fairly accurate and satisfying.

My biggest complaint is that with only three days of gentle use, the spine is already cracking.I fear the book will not last through its first ceremony, and I may have to photocopy the pages and put them into a notebook for practical use.

ABBA - Gold: Greatest Hits (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Artist Songbook) [Paperback] Review

I think that the other reviewer was reviewing the wrong book. This book is a book of collections of music sheets that appear in ever popular "ABBA Gold" CD. Considering that all the other individual music sheets are not available, this book is the only source of ABBA songs for the people who wants to play them. This book contains the music sheet quality of scores - piano and chords, as well as lyrics. Not a "easy" version. A true ABBA lover should definitely check this out !
There is another one which is titles as "Great Songs of ABBA", which contains almost all songs of ABBA. Unfortunately, the book is hard to get these days.

I love this book.It not only has the greatest songs in it, but it actually includes the notes for the harmonies! The pages are easy to read and follow, and the songs sound great.I used several songs from the book in my church as choir introits. Its a little lower than on the CD, but still a fantastic book.
